About

So in May of 2012, Benjamin Marsh finally endeavored upon a photoblog!

The title Wayward Snaps is meant to reflect the unplanned and varied nature of my posts– each of which consists of a focal photograph or two, and a few lines of related musings.  This blog is a project predominantly for myself, designed to help me more greatly appreciate the photos I capture; though as others happen upon Wayward Snaps and find content they like, that just serves to please me all the more.

Since 2002, when I acquired my first camera, I’ve gone through stages of photographic proliferation and drought–sometimes snapping hundreds daily, while other times going months without touching a camera.  Recently, I find myself grabbing for my camera quite often as I walk out my front door, only adding to the profusion of photographs on my hard drive, most of which are severely under-appreciated– lost to me in the sea of their sheer number.

Wayward Snaps, more than anything, provides me with a means by which to single out a number of these neglected snaps of mine, and to appreciate their lost, thought-provoking details.  Indeed, because so much of the value I derive from my photographs and this blog is personal, I took note in an early post to question my choice of making Wayward Snaps a public endeavor at all.

In simple fact, I learn about myself through my photos, as doubtless those who stumble across Wayward Snaps will learn something of me through them.
